Flying on Clouds

<-- Bebe

You would think flying on or through clouds would be the smoothest thing you could ever experience. Not quite. This Christmas vacation wasn’t the brightest. Commuting from airport to airport on December 25 isn’t the best way to celebrate Christmas day. Being blessed with the gift of my monthly menstrual cycle on the same day wasn’t quite the gift I was expecting from Santa either. Finally landing in Cali, I figured I’d make something of nothing. Enjoyed the kids (Elijah and Bella) to the best of my ability and played every “pretend” game until I couldn’t tolerate it anymore. On the hunt to find the perfect outfit for New Years Eve, I became a bit bitter until Bebe saved me. She came and left rather quickly. She didn’t leave willingly it was a kidnap! However, she’s in a better place. (At least that’s what I’m trying to convince myself to believe.)

I believe it was the night of the 30th. Daddy received a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant in Folsom, California. So instead of trotting back to New York with a gift certificate that could only be used Cali he decided to use it that night. (*Note to reader: Don’t give gift certificates for a restaurant that the receiver can only use in the “vacationing” state. DUH) Leaving Bestey and Bebe, we all went to enjoy what we thought would be great dinner. After dining and wining for quite a while, we returned to a broken window in Daddy’s rental and missing Bebe and Bestey. I immediately became devastated, wondering what I would do without Bebe on New Years Eve.

The ride to the airport was one of the worst. I never knew that it was possible to actually miss something that I hadn’t had very long. Finally arriving to the airport we realized that our flight was delayed (which was a good thing because we’d gotten there late anyway) which meant I was getting home two hours later than I anticipated. Which minused two hours of pampering myself and the beauty rest that was going to be well needed after suffering from the known airport disease: jetlag.

Well, I guess the moral of this story is no plane ride is ever a smooth one. There’s always some turbulence and a little wind. Kinda like life. However, the most important thing is that you make it safely to you destination. So for the New Year I’m happy to be alive and healthy. =D
